Nicole arrived at Naomis house a little earlier and walked silently to the stables. Sliding on her riding boots and helmet she walked over to the first stall and took the black horse out. Walking it over to the ties Nicole put on the jumping tack and then walked it outside. Once she was inside the gate she mounted off of the fence and began walking around the arena to get a feel for the soundness of the horse. After two laps she picked it up into a trot and then a canter. Slowing back down to a walk she faced the ground poles and had the horse walked over them. Then turning around she had it trot over them.
Satisfied she moved over to the 6" bars and had the horse walked over those. Then turning around once more she had it canter to the bar and then execute a small jump. Repeating this process a few more times she put the horse back in the stall and took out another one. Repeating the entire process again she put that horse away and moved onto another one. After she had completed half of the horses first training session. She took a small lunch break and ate a sandwich before going through the rest of the horses and finishing for the day.
Stopping by Naomi's front door she left a note, written on it was:
Naomi, All horses have had their first jumping lesson and they did great. I will be back tomorrow for their next lesson.
Thanks, Nicole.

Nicole pulled up to Naomi's house right on time in her truck and she hopped out, grabbing her gear she walked down to the stables and once again got out the black horse. Today was going to be a good one. Grooming the horse and cleaning out its hooves, she tacked it up and then walked out to the arena. Tying the horse to the fence railing she set up the jumps from 6" to 1'6" before going back to the horse and mounting. Even though she had done it yesterday, Nicole walked, trotted, and cantered the black horse around the arena to make sure his feet were sound before moving onto the jumps. Today she went straight for the 6" at a walk. Once the horse had gotten the feel for moving over the bars, Nicole started it into a center and executed a complete set of 6" jumps.
Moving on she completed a full set of 1' jumps only having 2 faults out of 8 jumps which was good for a horse new to jumping. After a quick lap around the arena she had the horse complete the entire set of ground at a walk, and the 6" and 1' at a canter. Delighted with the horses progress she untacked it and gave it a carrot. Moving through all the other horses she once again stopped by Naom's front door and let a note:
Naomi, ......All the horses are doing great. Not one ......of them missed more then 5/16 jumps. ......That is really good for the horses just ......learning. I am delighted with their ......progress and I will be back tomorrow. ................Nicole
